Diwali is the festival that brings goodwill to all except the environment. A thought-provoking assembly by the students of CT Public School highlighted this aspect. Their aim - to promote an eco-friendly Diwali. Giving a serious thought to the increasing pollution level in the city which causes harm to both animals and plants. Students pledged to celebrate diwali without crackers in a responsible manner - a fitting finale to the program and a good precursor to a safe and green Diwali!
Pledge taken by the students:
We, the students of CT Public School do hereby solemnly pledge that we will celebrate Eco-friendly Diwali so that we can save our environment from pollution. We also pledge to spread this message in our neighborhood among our friends and relatives to do the same. We promise to share our happiness with the needy and the unprivileged and experience the joy of giving and sharing with them. May this little deed inspire and enlighten the people and bring harmony, peace and happiness in our country.
The principal of the school, Mrs. Ranjana Rajput advised the students to spend their money on doing good deeds than spending on crackers . She told the students that they can visit an orphanage or an old age home and share their time and sweets with the people living there, they can donate the money they want to spend on crackers to make somebody Else's Diwali merrier.
A riot of colours was triggered at Sahodaya Rangoli competition conducted at STS World School. Students participated enthusiastically in it. The participants displayed their skill at drawing rangoli, and each of their colourful art works displayed a blend of both traditional and modern ideas.
