Voter Jagrukta Abhiyan

The students of CT Public School participated in a programme called “Voter Jagrukta Abhiyan."

This programme was initiated to bring awareness among the people to cast their votes for the right candidate for the State Assembly polls scheduled to take place in February. The voters should cast their precious votes to select their representative who would enhance the development of the state. The teachers acquainted the students of CT Public School about the importance of voting .They were informed that voting means ‘you have a say in who represents you in governing your country or state.'

The process of voting allows every citizen to have a say in what should constitute the matters of importance by voting for their candidates he or she deems fit. People often choose not to vote because they feel their vote does not count, but one vote does count in many ways. In elections, law makers are elected who make laws, policies and appointments that will have effects for years to come. Voting is as much a responsibility as it is a right. The whole edifice of Indian democracy is built on the foundation of voting.

If citizens are not careful about casting their votes or skip their vote altogether; it will jeopardize the existence of our democratic Republic. The students formed a human chain and sent across a message to the residents of Jalandhar to cast their valuable votes.
