Dental Checkup

*NO CAN TAKE OUR SMILES AWAY WHEN DENT DECAY IS KEPT MILES AWAY*

A free dental check-up camp was organized for the students of CT Public School The students of classes I-XII participated in this two -days camp from 25th -26th July. Dr. Chandrika Gill and her associate examined the oral health of the students and discussed their problems and also recommended medical assistance wherever necessary. The parents were informed of the problems of their wards so that they could take necessary steps for them. The teachers and helping staff also attended the dental camp and took advise from the doctors. Dr. Chandrika Gill said that most of the problems of the people begin from the teeth. If a person's oral health is good then most of the diseases can be put at bay.

Our human body is made up of a complex network that is interconnected with the different parts of the body. This explains why the functioning of one part of the body can have an effect on the other parts. Poor oral health often leads to several serious diseases that can affect your overall health. A person’s mouth is filled with different kinds of bacteria.
Giving proper care to your oral health by flossing, brushing and using a mouthwash regularly can keep these bacteria at bay. Lack of oral hygiene could lead to bacterial infections that result in cavities, decaying tooth causing severe toothache, gum disease, and bad breath.
A healthy diet is required for healthy teeth and an overall oral health. The children were advised to brush their teeth twice a day and floss it regularly. To ensure a good oral health the students were advised to visit a dentist on a regular basis to get their teeth cleaned and for oral examinations. This would help them to detect oral health as *SMILING IS FUN WITH HEALTHY TEETH AND GUMS*

CT PUBLIC SCHOOL ORGANIZES SESSION ON HANDLING CHALLENGING STUDENTS

Teaching a lesson to your class can become quite a challenge when you have to deal with the constant disruption of a difficult student. It may seem like you have tried every behavior management tip known to man, along with trying to provide an organized routine to help the student manage their responsibilities. Inevitably, when everything you've tried fails, keep your head up and try again.

A fruitful and informative session was conducted at CT PUBLIC SCHOOL on 13 July,2019 for the staff on How to deal with challenging students?Ms.Amrit Kalsi, director and trainer ,counselling,CT Group Of Institutions was the resource person of the day.The Co Chairperson of CT Group,Ms. Parminder Kaur Channi graced the event with her presence.

The teachers were guided to choose discipline techniques that will encourage positive behavior and motivate students to feel good about themselves and the decisions that they make. The following tips were given to combat classroom disruptions, and deal with those difficult students:

Define Expectations :

Specifically, define your expectations and help students understand there are consequences for the negative behaviour.

Parent-Teacher Communication :
Get parents involved in their child's education. Find a way to keep parents informed of their child's behavior at school.Once you find a way to communicate with the parents of the difficult child, next you must consider what words you will choose to say to the parents. Present the facts of the unwanted behavior, and be prepared to communicate with the parents how you plan to change the student's behavior. Knowing how you are going to deal with the parents, will help you address the needs of the child for behavior modification.

Keep Calm, Cool and Collective :
Naturally, when someone gets you upset it is common to react with frustration and anger. When this happens, it's important to remain calm. Take a deep breath, or even walk away from the situation for a moment to clear your head. Remember, this child may not have learned the tools of how to properly communicate, and now it is your job to teach them. When you stay calm in a difficult situation, it will be a model for the student that this is the proper way to react.

The staff was highly appreciative and hopeful to implement the above tips given in the session .The Principal,Mr.Daljeet Singh and Vice Principal,Ms.Sukhdeep Kaur expressed gratitude to Ms.Kalsi for such an educative and interactive session to cope up with the needs of challenging students.
